HIGHLIGHTS
- Our $1 million lab. Our top-secret badges that we need to get into the elevator, bathrooms, etc. Oh, did I mention the snack room. (See pic below). Yeah. All for us.
- We have a cleaning lady who comes once a week. It's funny cause the more organized of our roommates seem to take it as almost an insult, but Emily and I think it's the best part of the program. My bed gets made EVERY WEEK! (Also see below.)
- There's a 26-mile trail behind my house, and this week, I've actually had time to use it! (They said our relaxation will come to a screeching halt soon enough).
- We went to the Lehi Round-up Rodeo!!! Gotta get in on the culture, ya know.
- Fav quote by our director; "I would like some time with you each week...just so you can hear me swear." That's the most appropriate quote I can put up anyway. She's a total nutcase.
LOWLIGHTS
- We're being watched by some of the most well-known researchers in our field. No joke, like they're in the classroom taking notes. No pressure. Oh, and they told us if we don't hack it, we get sent home.
- In a lecture when I had to cover my mouth to keep in an actual whimper. It was during our 13-hr day and I thought it was time for break but had misunderstood (shockingly) what they'd been signing.
- Been a little rough getting a final answer with the rules (as we're the very first group) and it has vacillated between frustrating and comical. My favorite part was when we asked the director a question and the answer was, "No...Yes...No."
- Whenever we start to feel the program too closely resembles prison or the military, our director reminds us we can give up at any time and she'll pay for the plane ticket. Thanks?
- While writing this blog, I had 6 Peanut M&Ms left, and I was one off from having one of each color. It could've been magic.
